What do you mean by free? You’re no longer confined to a desk, the kids are gone for the weekend, all your homework is complete, and bills are paid. So you think you’re free? That’s nothing but an illusion my friend. Here, let me help you out with that.
You’re on a lease, nothing more and nothing less. You’ll be back at that desk, hunched over and receiving orders. The kids will be back as fast as you close your eyes and open them again. Your bills won’t stop coming, you’ll be looking in the mail again for those bills you just paid with money you don’t own.
So you still believe you’re free? No, you aren’t free. That’s the illusion you created to ease your confinement. You my friend are simply on borrowed time, and the world has plenty of borrowed time to offer.
Well, that’s one way to look at it! 🙂 I like your take on it.

I never looked at things this way – kids, work, bills, mortgage, house, etc, etc. Mayve that’s why I feel so stressed. We do live in shackled freedom.

They say the world is what you make of it, but it’s hard to shape a reality that’s constantly being controlled by the “higher powers”. All we can do is try to ease the stress.
