I weep for mother, and I watch as she weeps for her children
I see her pain, I see her tears, but I cannot hear her cries
She calls out but we don’t answer
She looks at us but we look past her
She embraces us but we turn our backs. Oh mother, don’t abandon us
Bare with us a little longer
For we are your children, and you are our mother
It’s Monday, eat an apple. If it’s anything you eat today or any day I encourage you to eat an apple. They’re known as the number one killer of bad moods and hunger.
I started watching TV again and I don’t regret it one bit. Its been 4 years since I decided to cut cable television and haven’t looked back, until I had the opportunity to have it once again. Things like reality shows don’t interest me but that’s most of what will be shown when tuning in these days, unless you’re like me and like to watch cartoons as well. It must’ve only been a week in which I learned about a cartoon called Steven Universe and proceeded to binge watch all 3 of the current seasons in that week.
Initially I was skeptical because it had been years since I watched a good cartoon but five episodes in were enough to keep me in front of the TV. I’ll admit that the charming characters, compelling story, and progressive themes were more entertaining than any reality show I’ve ever seen. After finishing the series I actually think I’ll be going back to watching regular TV. I’ve said in the past that TV too much TV was bad for any any person; but I found it enjoyable and it passes the time so with being said I’m open to suggestions of good shows to watch.
Because we’ve all had that one teacher who makes it known they want you to fail, but also a good teacher who wants you to succeed . I could count on one hand the number of teachers I’ve had who didn’t care about putting in a great amount of effort towards helping their students learn, and guaranteed I’d be using all fingers with thumb included to count. As awful as that sounds I’ve had a lot of teachers who’ve enjoyed seeing their students excel.
In my opinion, what makes a good teacher is the ability to connect with your students. If your students feel that you truly want to help them learn then you’ve pretty much ensured they’ll be successful. On the other side the “bad” teacher prefers to treat their job as nothing more than just a job, and not a chance at helping people earn an education. I feel those people shouldn’t be instructing anyone if they can’t tolerate everything that comes along with being a teacher, it should be a fun process for the student and instructor. Of course, like any job it’ll have its ups and downs but those aspects should make your job all the more fun.
In short, if I’m planning to learn a new skill from someone, I want the person who’s teaching me to be just as excited as I am about learning.
Happy New year everyone, and welcome to 2017. It’s the start of a new adventure for everyone so I hope you’re geared up and ready to start on your roads. I’m looking forward to lots of exciting things that may come with the new year and I’ll be waiting to read all about the stories you will share throughout the year. If it’s 3 things I want to take away from 2016 it’s keep an open mind, stay mentally prepared, and never doubt your abilities. With that being said, may everyone’s 2017 have a great start and lets tackle the new year!
With all the worldly changes that’s been happening such as the recent presidential election and other issues surrounding our society, I thought it’d be best to start reading up more on what’s going on in society and how I can stay informed with the latest news. As such, I’ve took to reading online articles of popular topics and news sites that can guide me in the direction on current affairs.
Now, you can ask anyone who knows me well and they’ll tell you I’ve never been much for political conversation and I stand neutral on most subjects but I feel like politics comes up more than often in conversation, especially with strangers and it’s interesting to hear their views on different topics and reasons behind why they stand behind their beliefs. So why is it important for anyone to be concerned with issues around the world and how does it help to stay informed?
Well honestly speaking the average person who lives in one country will probably not care about whats happening in the next because they feel it doesn’t affect them. People living within the same country feel that way as well, with a lot of them being youth. But I feel it’s normal for young people to not have an interest for anything news related because to a lot of them, and even some adults, it’s just boring useless information. Because of that reason, I’ve went ahead and compiled some benefits of staying informed with the latest news.
- You’ll know about what issues are currently taking place and how they directly affect you
- You can plan and prepare for how to counter act issues that may hinder your everyday life
- It helps you gain understanding on how you can combat the issues in your living area
- It’ll expand your vocabulary for when you speak on politics and current events
- It can broaden your outlook on life itself
- It’ll encourage others around you to start reading up on current events themselves
- It’s free knowledge, you should always take advantage of learning new and important things for free
With the reasons above I hope that may spark some interest in some people to start reading up on the news. If there’s anyone who’s curious about where or how they can start, the answer is right in your hand, or pocket. Anyone with access to a phone can start reading right away. From Google to Facebook, and even news apps you’ll always have a way to stay informed. And politics aren’t the only topic you have to focus on, find a topic that interest start reading up now!
I’ll start by saying it’s REALLY annoying when your tablet with all your rough drafts for your writing breaks down and you have no way to retrieve any of it. I’ve been out of commission for weeks now with no electronics to access my writing but I’m finally able to get back on and start typing away. I’m sure there’s others who have come across this problem at least once so I thought I’d share a few ways to keep the writing spirit strong and fresh even without a computer to write to.
Which is probably the oldest way of keeping track of your thoughts and ideas. I usually have a separate notebook that I write ideas for topics in and another that I write to just for keeping a log of life experiences. It’s nice to have both on hand at all times though because I never know when a good idea will pop into my head and I can always refer to it later when I’m able to make it to a laptop.
Multi Device Keyboard:
Yes I know, this isn’t ideal for a lot of people but it IS an option and it’s compatible with both android, apple, and pc devices. If you can find one for a good price ($30?) then it’d make for a good investment. Nobody likes typing on a tiny screen but some might find it easier and quicker than handwriting for long periods of time, especially if you have much to say like myself. If you don’t own a notebook and typing is your preferred method then go ahead and grab one of these!
The old reliable library, no seriously this place is truly a life saver. For a lot of libraries you’ll need a card but some places are just free to walk into and walk out, or if you’re a student you most likely have access to a library on campus. My method is to type something up on Microsoft Word, email it to myself, then continue working on it once I’m able to do so from home, and speaking of email…
Another method that’s not all too ideal but it’s better than nothing! Open up your email, write a few ideas down for later, and save it as a draft. I’ve only done this once but it helped the one time I needed it and I know it’s something I can use in a pinch.
There’s lots of other ways I’m sure but these were the ones I felt were easiest to use. Of course if anyone has any other methods to use I’m all open for trying those too but I hope these can be of some use to all my fellow writers out there and even if you aren’t a writer you may still find these tips helpful. I hope everyone’s week has been great and that you enjoy your holiday weekend!
